A couple were called in by a friend, pro bono, to help support the IT and communications needs of what turned out to be a volunteer centre post Cyclone Gabrielle.
After observing and having it confirmed that there were several issues hindering an effective response, the urgent need was that a replacement website could be required.
However it came to light that there was more to the project than first met the eye, and the emergent longer commitment that began in February 2023 is the website being entirely redesigned, and including a Content Management System (CMS) in the back, along with the bedrock of a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) too.
The ardent husband and wife team behind Torch have put everything on hold, nurturing this venture 100 hours per week to make this all happen, and are keen to continue to support the wider volunteering community by continuing to carry the Torch, albeit with a bit more balance.
In fact, if they were to answer the question 'if you had a million dollars and could do whatever you had a passion for' this would fit the bill, especially if travel, family, and weekends / nights off were included.
